Testimonials from clients during Covid19
I worked with Karen several times over the summer and into the early fall to start organizing my basement shelved storage room. Karen was very friendly and knowledgeable and practiced safe COVID practices which made me feel even more comfortable. We wore masks the whole time we worked. We stood on opposite sides of a long table when going through items and she even brought her own Lysol can to spray everything before she left just to be sure we were safe. I will definitely be calling her again when I'm ready to finish the project after the holidays or early spring. Thanks for all your help Karen!

Thank you so much for helping me get organized. I didn’t think four hours was gonna be enough time but it all feels great now. I feel like it was the right idea to split it into two two hour long sessions and it was comforting to see how serious you are about social distancing and safety in general.
Thanks again,
Kurt, Bedford, MA
I received referrals from the COA for helping me get my house organized and Karen Kenny's name was on the list. She was the only one I called.
I had two or more rooms to be organized and I was not going forward with the job. Karen came in and helped me organize things and recycle some used clothing. Very effective. I had been using her services for almost a year at one to two hours a week. Since the pandemic, we have had to modify the organizing job.
Since I tend not to throw out every piece of paper as the trash is generated, I have a few piles to be categorized and filed. Karen has been helpful with that project. Now I have labeled files to be filed.
Karen's approach to helping is not aggressive. She listens and makes suggestions and I can agree or not. The work gets done without stress. She is not pushy. I am planning on continuing with our current arrangement until my space is organized and then after that with maintaining my space so that it does not get cluttered.

I am one of the lucky people who found Karen Kenney. Don't know how that happened since I hadn't been able to find anything in my house under piles of paperwork, but she came into my life and has made such a difference. For well over a year, Karen has been trying to get me and my belongings into shape by setting up systems for me to organize myself and by doing lots of that work alongside me.
Of course, once Covid came around, we weren't sure how we could continue to work together. With careful consideration, she worked out a safe but thorough path for going forward. We both realized how important it was to interact in a thoughtful, responsible manner. Karen actively engaged with me in establishing the recommended Covid19 protocols: social distancing, hand-washing, always wearing a mask. She also checked her temperature before coming into my home. I was very comfortable about how much time we spent together, because I knew she was as concerned about maintaining caution and good sense as I was.
And then, to add to the challenge, I sold my home in October and moved to a new one-- a real juggling act. But behind her quiet, calm disposition, Karen is a master juggler. She was thankfully available to help with some tough-love downsizing as well as looking for specific options for disposing of my worldly goods. Her experience was invaluable in sorting through and getting rid of what I had been holding onto for far too long.
Even after I moved to my new home, she worked alongside me (but at a 6-foot distance!) in a different mode. We both worked at unpacking everything, getting rid of the paper and endless boxes, and even helped me re-arrange furniture and hang up framed pictures and artwork.
Karen has the rare skill of being able to advise about what works best without being overbearing or controlling. What's more, she quietly inserts support and encourages you to take a breath when things seem overwhelming. I'm very grateful to her for being in my life during some very stressful times. We're now getting into the revised task of organizing my new home, and I have no doubt that this will be accomplished.

I just loved having Karen come over to help organize last month. I gave her designated space and she wrapped several gifts and then organized a large bookcase for us and smaller one with tons of DVD’s. Karen is always on time and so very helpful. Karen follows the COVID guidelines and is very thorough in her work.

BUSINESS
"Karen helped me get my small art business off the ground. She helped me organize and label the bins of my completed framed photo art. We organized other bins that had unused frames in them. By sorting them it helped me refrain from unnecessary and duplicate purchases. Karen assisted me at my first craft fair and many since then. She helped me select the artwork, packing the display materials, setting up and breaking down after the fair. She respects me and encourages my artwork.
Her help during my kitchen renovations was invaluable keeping me on track with contractor deadlines and inspector visits. We packed up the kitchen prior to the renovation and then unpacked things and put them away in my new kitchen. She also labeled the cabinet shelves and my new spice racks.
When I have trouble with my computer or IPAD she patiently reviews the information as needed. Karen helps me to solve the issue, so that I understand what happened. With her help, my computer skills have improved.
It has been very helpful to be introduced to daily and weekly planners-giving me peace of mind in planning my days/weeks/months. It gives me more independence. This also helps me avoid overbooking.
Karen amazes me with her creativity in the use of everyday things. Her ideas are quite novel, even amusing. She constantly goes the extra mile for me as we work through different projects."

"I work as a hands-on technical problem-solver for several client companies, work that involves me keeping track of a variety of electrical equipment, machinery, materials, chemicals, and samples, in addition to innumerable technical books and papers. Other organizers see only a gigantic mess to be carted off to a dumpster when they walk into my office, but Karen understands how I work, and very successfully helps me keep all the physical items organized for easy access and retrieval, in addition to keeping my work-space and office presentable."

"I run an electrical business, taking care of Electrical customers is how I make my money. I could not keep up with clients, the bills, the mail, the marketing and other endless task a business owner has each day. Karen has set up a filing system, which allows me to pay the bills. Once a month she comes and files everything for me. She will research information on the web. Recently I have gotten into the Home Inspection Business, she helped design my cards, my logo, my stationary and other promotional items. She has done advertising for me and many other things as well. She does a great job and helps my business run successfully."

"Harvard University deposited 80 boxes of my husband’s books and papers in our basement. Karen managed to sort, catalogue and file them all. She is now working her magic on 30 years’ worth of accumulation in our attic. And she’s fun to work with."

"Karen was just who I needed as I worked through the downsizing process and departure from the family house. Could not have done it without her. She wrapped and packed to perfection."
Stephanie Samman
"Where would we be without Karen? In our family, one of us is orderly and one is not. Karen's visits supply speedy organization to all the creeping stuff that otherwise threatens chaos. She finds what's lost and she keeps our tempers from fraying. Not only is she efficient, cheerful and caring Karen is indispensable and understanding friend."
H. Baldwin, Lincoln MA
"Karen helped me create organizational systems that will grow/still be a use as my needs change. She also taught me how to use and reuse common objects (i.e.) plastic bags for creative purpose. Karen is truly gifted at what she can do to organize your home. And she creates workable systems that you can continue to use after she is gone. You also learn a lot from her as she goes, so you can then handle/create smaller systems on your own."
Erin Squeglia, Reading, MA
Karen is fantastic. She came over and first to assess our current situation and second our goals. We tackled our basement, my room, bedroom closets and then a new filing system. Once those things were accomplished, things seemed clearer. Having things in order allowed us to better focus on the more important things.

"My kids' school supplies were everywhere, plus I had a storage unit for them but supplies never made it to that storage unit. I did not have the time to sort it all out. Karen came in on Saturday, while I took the kids to soccer and organized the whole mess. All the pencils and markers and other items all have a home. All the containers stack on top of each other. Nice and neat, she labeled them and even my 5 year old knows what goes in what container. It has been a year and things still are in the right container. Thanks Karen!"

"Karen was like an angel. I only had a few days to get my house ready to put on the market. My real estate agent gave me a list of things to do. I was all alone and very overwhelmed. Karen came in and helped me get everything on the list done. Low and behold my house sold in three days! Thanks Karen."

"Last year after moving and repainting several rooms in my house I decided to get back to my passion which was painting and doing my craft projects. When I tried to get back to doing my crafts, I realized that after a couple of months of just dumping everything in that room, I needed help to get it organized. Karen came in, helped put things into containers that work specifically for crafters and helped me set up a nice peaceful spot so I can paint until my heart is content. Now everything has a spot, containers are labeled and things are so much easier to find. Thanks Karen"

"We are a small preschool in Brookline, located in a Victorian house with very limited storage space. We had used just about every space imaginable, and were at our wits end. Karen came in and gave us some fantastic ideas on how to utilize our funky space. She added bookshelves and hanging sweater bags to store supplies. Her ideas for rolling carts . .....were terrific! ......Everything has a spot, is labeled, and easy to find."

"Karen Kenney has an excellent understanding of the how and what of working with the tangibles in death. Do I throw away or save? Do I make a clean sweep or store? These are critical questions in dealing with the loss of a loved one and complex questions when there is a complicated grief. If mom or dad was a #-- blankey blank and now he or she is gone how does one deal with the "stuff". What to do if ones life partner of decades has died what are the priorities with regard to "stuff". Karen's calm manner, organizing expertise and experience with grief, work to provide an excellent resource for others. Her help was invaluable after my husband's death and my mother's death."
"I highly recommend her."
